What we collect
- Your account. Your email (or your Google or Apple sign in), name, username, an optional profile photo, and your birth year to confirm you are 13 or older.
- Your practice. Sessions and minutes, streaks, intentions and reflections, mood check ins, journal and gratitude entries, habits, playlists and the titles of the audio you add. This lets your practice sync across devices and survive a new phone.
- Community activity. Posts, comments, likes, friends and the group sessions you join.
- App health. Crash reports without your name or email, and error logs linked to your account so we can fix problems. Your app version and a notification token if you allow notifications.
What stays on your device
The audio files you add to your Library never leave your phone. Your conversations with Sage are stored on your phone too. Sage's answers are generated on our server from your question and the last few messages, and the conversation is not saved there.
What other members can see
Your username, photo, profile glyph, posts and comments, your garden and badges, your place on leaderboards and when you are meditating now. You can hide yourself from leaderboards in Privacy settings. We don't show your email or birth year to other members.
Services we use
A few trusted providers run parts of DeepSoul for us, only for that purpose:
- Google Firebase: accounts, database and file storage.
- Sentry: crash reports.
- Expo: notifications.
- Cloudflare: live voice in group lobbies, connecting group sessions, and delivering our guided audio.
- Resend: account and welcome emails.
- Google Drive and Dropbox: only if you choose to import files. We only read the files you pick.
Group sessions
Voice is used only in the lobby before a session, and your microphone starts muted. During a group session the host's audio streams directly between phones and is not recorded or stored.
Emails
We send account emails (verification, password reset) and a short welcome series when you join. Every non essential email has a one tap unsubscribe link.
Permissions
Notifications for reminders, microphone for lobby voice, photos to choose a picture, and audio files to add your own meditations. We never access your contacts or location.
This website
We count visits to improve the site. We use no cookies, don't store your IP address, and use an anonymous code that changes every day. We see only the page, the referring site, your device type and an approximate city.
Guests
You can use DeepSoul as a guest without an account. Guests can't post, add friends or join group sessions.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time. See Delete your account for what is removed and how to ask us by email.
Age
DeepSoul accounts are for people aged 13 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app first.
